"Lately I seem to be discovering new up and coming artists in the goth/industrial genre via MySpace. One of my favorite discoveries I found off the vastly popular social networking website is the Estonian band Suicidal Romance. Dimitry and Viktoria are the two principal members of Suicidal Romance. LOVE BEYOND REACH is the group's first album and it is a spectacular debut. Anyone who is familiar with Blutengel and Lost Area will thoroughly enjoy Suicidal Romance. The music follows the same recipe from the other two bands with the male/female vocals, addictively infectious pop hooks, dark and romantic lyrics, and pulsating synth beats. What makse Suicidal Romance stands out from Blutengel and Lost Area is that Viktoria's vocals are more prominent than Dimitry's on the album. While the lead singers in the other two bands are men. I am not bothered by Dimitry's distorted vocals. I am used to that type of vocals since it is common in the industrial genre. Dimitry's lyrics are not as over the top as Blutengel's Chris Pohl's lyrics tends to be with the obvious vampire theme that permeates through out his songs. All thirteen tracks on LOVE BEYOND REACH is addictive. They are super catchy. I can't pick out any favorites because I enjoy every single song. If you love Blutengel and Lost Area, check out Suicidal Romance. This is definitely worth having in any goth/industrial lover's music collection."

"I will be the first one here to compare Esponia's Suicidal Romance to Blutengel who (surprise, surprise) even remix a song on their debut album, LOVE BEYOND REACH. And in some ways I actually like this group more, but in other ways I don't. The electro-pop beats laced with gothic romanticism make for a very pleasurable listening experience that is catchy as all hell (not to mention the lyrics are thankfully not as corny as Blutengel's can be at times). However, one thing I cannot stand is Dmitry's cold, mechanical way of singing. I honestly feel as if they just get in the way of the addictive, melodic music and Viktoria's gorgeous, more prominent vocals. They've definitely grown on me, though, and most probably won't mind. So with that said, this is certainly worth owning.
