"god what a breath of fresh air. if you haven't heard suicide file, they're a great, extremely simple rock n roll-hardcore band, leaning HEAVILY towards the rock side. think bars, verse, and lots of tough guy bands, except really freakin good. great lyrics that deal with more than beating people up, getting drunk, or never getting drunk.



sure, some of the songs are about girls, hating them, or missing them(though a lot less lame than that sounds) but it's all completely excusable in light of "f-ck fox news" "2003" "ascroft" and "i hate rock n roll." there's so much hate on this album...i couldn't be happier. i've missed bands with something to say that i actually care to hear.



anyway, this is a collection of b-sides and eps and demos, etc. it's actually a better value for your money than the full length Twilight, which was barely 20 minutes. this does have some repeat songs, and some pretty roughly mixed ones, but it hardly matters. the song writing is excellent, and the lyrics are often very rewarding. it's a real shame these guys aren't around anymore.



also you gotta respect a band that has the balls to call it's collection of b-sides "some mistakes you never stop paying for""

"seriously, at the moment, i think you'd be hard pressed to find another vocalist filled with this much venom. but it's not tough-guy-posturing type anger, it's genuine fury. about the media, about the state of america's people, about himself, and probably about any scene you can dream up.

the music is angry, too, but not in the "chugga-chugga" way (not that i don't love the chuggachugga stuff). and it's refreshing that way. the guitars are like buzzsaws, fast and sharp in lieu of heavy and plodding.

this album encompasses all their ep's and demos (at least i think they're all here). there are a couple doubles on here, but different versions of them, and they're all good. the only song on here that lets up at all is the ender "another night in america". this record is probably the best starting point if you're not familiar with this band, as it'll give ya the most bang for your buck. but their full length, "twilight", is also stellar, and if you wind up loving this, you'll have to go get that.

these guys aren't around anymore, but this release will get em back some of the attention they would've/should've gotten earlier. if listening to this in your headphones doesn't make your blood pump so fast you just hafta get up and go do something, then there may actually be something wrong with you.
