"Wow, what a great band! Get the CD -- and see them live when you can. Fabulous, high-energy, spirited dynamics. A smart band, full of fun. Not to mention, the Drummer (Pete McNeal) is GREAT!"
Baby band brews up smooth grooves at home

"I've come across literally thousands of rock albums in the past few years and none have caught my attention nor held it as long as Sumack. While they remain unseen by almost everyone's radar, this debut album mixes folk, funk, scratches, catchy hooks, and clever lyrics with hummable melodies and head bobbin' grooves. Keeping up the tradition of at home recording (8 tracks mind you) Sumack has created a very organic feel that is never cluttered. Think of Beck's "Odelay" and you're on the right track. Think of something you can listen to anytime and you've hit the nail on the head."

"This is an amazing band, what a wide variety of styles on one CD. You can hear the antique drums the drummer must be obsessed with antique drums. It is a band with a great direction and not to mention great music."

"It may sound like hyperbole, but I AM NOT JOKING! This is the best record I have heard in... I don't know... years, probably! Finally there is a band who mixes cool sounds, beats, ideas, and production with classic, listenable writing. I heard about them through a friend of a friend and I can't believe it. These songs are on the level of the great ones (whatever that means to you) - but the sound is totally forward-thinking. I don't feel bad throwing the word "genius" out there. Can't wait for their new one."
