"I first heard Sun-60 when I was 13 - my friend's dad was the drummer. And the first song I heard was "Runaway Jane". I kid you not, this song - and this album - changed my life. There was just something about Joan Jones' voice, something about the quirkiness of the music that just struck me and I had to buy it. I listened to it so much, I wore my tape out!I can't think of a single song on this record that isn't good. The style shifts from alt-country ("Kiss the Train") to jazz ("Should Have Seen the Moon") to straight-ahead rock ("Too Much Tube") to beautifully crafted folk ("Take Me Home"), while still retaining a cohesive band "sound". Joan's voice can hit any note, bring up any emotion - I learned how to let go and really SING by singing along with this album. David Russo is also a fine singer ("Cold Water" has the best, swaying-est rhythm), and the musicianship is just spot-on. This is a pop record, no doubt, but it's a pop record made by really talented people. There is a song for every mood, and this range is played well.For the past 10 years, these songs have been on mixtapes and in my stereo, and I haven't gotten tired of them. I still jump around my room, singing along to "Runaway Jane" like I did when I was 13 - the year I decided to take a cue from Joan's lyrics and temporarily "change my name to Jane".It's really a shame that Sun-60 wasn't as popular as they could have been - for all the sharing I did back then, I would have hoped they had become famous! Find this record and BUY IT NOW."

"I first heard "Runaway Train" visting my friend in Chicago. AFter hearing that single, we both went out and bought the album. Very inventive and distinctive, and Joan Jones voice is wonderful! I have bought this for friends and no one has been disappointed yet. A Must Have!"

Catchy, happy joyous stuff!

"Okay, i know a lot of people are turned off by happy, uppy pop, but this band has TALENT, and lots of it. Every single track is wonderful. You will fall in love with joan jones' vocal style, she really hits those notes. and the songs will not leave your head, you'll be singing along instantly. Plus the fact that these musicians really know what they're doin. It's not cheesy pop, it's seriously great music. I've played this stuff for people and they always like it. Nothing else sun 60 has done since has matched this-i first heard a song by them on the soundtrack to my favorite movie, the early mike meyers flick, "so i married an axe murderer." Joan Jones recently came out with a solo album, and they've used two songs from it on MTV's the real world, but that album isn't even as good as this. It is perfect, right up there in the top ten or twenty in my collection. I love the first song, and "kiss the train" just rocks and keeps you shakin with its train engine beat, and joan's primal scream vocals. When david russo sings he's great too-"cold water" is just groovin, as is "too much tube." "Landslide" is beautiful and sad, along with "take me home," which actually brought tears to my eyes when i played it when i was depressed. "many miles" has shake your booty attitude, "runaway jane" has this wierd, western fun to it, and jones really plays with her vocals, and "should have seen the moon" is a sophisticated, sexy piece with i think a bossa nova rhythm. I think i've named almost every song!! That should show you something-if you like pop, just buy this now, please! if you're disappointed, simple as that!!"
