Revisiting Supergrass....

"I got into Supergrass just as they released 'In It For The Money' around 1997. Instantly i purchased COCO. Britpop was quite underground in America, but extremely lively compared to the music being done domestically by most bands of the time.
A couple weeks back I revisited Supergrass after half a decade's lapse and found their newer albums were all rather good, unique, evocative. COCO still stands up as an excellent album. It is fun, lively, youthful, catchy, and hasn't aged a bit. I could see kids today still loving this stuff dearly, as they did back in the mid-90's.
What a band. Supergrass is excellent, and I hope they keep doing what they do until they are old as dirt."
I'm Cuckoo for I Should Coco....

"I Should Coco - The debut from Brit-pop trio Supergrass. In 1995 when this was released these Oxford boys were only teenagers creating a burst of delightful energy!
Slick production, fun hooks and fizz galore, a joy to listen all the way through, even though Gaz Coombes vocals shows it's limits. This is the only one to date that made any impact here in the United States. Supergrass' second effort "In It For The Money" is a bit darker and not as mischievious or exciting as "I Should Coco."
They were even offered their own television series by a U.S. TV producer in 1995; kind of like The Monkees in the '60s, but the band wasn't interested in his offer. I think that was a smart decision.
Their Hit Singles include songs "Lenny" - "Caught by the Fuzz" - "Mansize Rooster" & "Alright" - a Teen anthem and HUGELY popular and in heavy rotation on MTV. My absolute favorite song would have to be the opening track - "I'd Like to Know." - Very fast, fun teenage spirit. The only "somewhat" less up-beat song is the closing track "Time to Go" a bit Beatle-esque of a sound.
Truly remarkable! -For me- Somewhere in between 4 & 5 stars"

"Went to a concert here recently and it was the best one of my life. This cd is a little punkier with faster beats then other ones, still completely awesome."
