Synopsis
Album Description Susan's third collection for children and their families is a sing-along and dance-along classic! Once again blending both traditional and original tunes, Susan's inspired arrangements will delight both young and older listeners. a recipient of both the Parents' Choice Gold Award and an Oppenheim Toy Portfolio Platinum 2000 Award, Color Me Singing includes the African chant and dance song "Che Che Kule" as well as "We Are Marching," a glorious, upbeat march that emerged as an anthem from the South African anti-apartheid movement. School Library Journal calls Color Me Singing "...a lively collection of original songs and new versions of traditional ones." |
CD ReviewsWhat a nice change of pace! nymom | 06/19/2002 (5 out of 5 stars) "This CD is a nice set of songs, danceable and singable, and a great change of pace from sesame street and nursery rhymes. Some of the songs are very catchy and easy for little ones to pick up and sing along. As an added bonus, the songs are really much more tolerable for parents as well. There is a good mix of sing-song like verses, like one potato, plus some good drum beats, like Che Che Kule and the Marching Song. The album is a nice mix of backgrounds, and the original songs, like Color me singing, are easy melodies with easy to understand words. My daughter is singing "The Resale Shop" after just two hearings. "A Little Help is All I Need" is another great song that small children can relate to."
