Synopsis

Product Description
Two great albums on one double CD package - the third in the Excellent Sides series. The orginal album "Have You Heard This Story" was composed as an outlet for anxiety that plagued Swamp for years. You'll think you are listening to Sly Stone meeting George Clinton as they both move in with Swamp Dogg. The Funk is generous. Tracks 1, 5, 8, and 9 appeared as the therapeutic A-side of the orginial album, telling an abridged story of his early bouts with panic attacks and agoraphobia. The remainder of the album is just an ass-kicking good time. The second album collected here, "I Called For A Rope And They Threw Me A Rock", is not only a happy album about parties, two-timing women and lying men but also contains some political satire and mockings of historical events delivered the way that only The Dogg can do. "I'd Lie to You for You Love", with additional ad lib lyrics by the Dogg is classic. "We Need a Revolution" remains very popular in the Netherlands and the Caribbean. Although political, there's a load of boogie and r'n'b throughout.
