"You are one of the hottest musical acts of the mid 1970's. What do you do after that accomplishment? You rerecord the same songs 10 to 20 years later. Brian Connolly lead singer of the Sweet, God rest his soul, apparently did exactly that with Blockbuster Alternative Takes Collectors Gold, the first CD of this three piece set. If you are buying this product to relive your youth please buy the original releases. I personally love this CD because it is a more mature remastering of what was done before. While I miss the beginning of the original Ballroom Blitz (So are you ready Steve... Un Huh...Andy?..Yeah..Mick?..Okay.....All right fellas let's go) on this live performance, one of the final four live tracks, it is readily apparent the boys are no longer together on this recording. But you get solid production on a gold CD. Now on two disc 2, Sweet Greatest Hits Remixed circa 1999 has various Glam, Goth and Techno remixes of your favorite Sweet songs. Love it as well as I am a fan of these genres. Serious club music for tooling around it your mobile sound machine. These first two CDs check in at an hour apiece and you will find something you haven't heard and wonder why someone hasn't told you yet. Now for the redundant -- you get a 3rd CD and a poster. The third CD is Fox on the Run Remixed single with three of the songs from the second CD. Give this to a friend as your own CD case is probably full or leave it unlocked in the car for unsuspecting thieves. 20 minutes of something you already have is not an efficent allocation of resources as well as a poster promoting the impotent Sea Snakes release on May 15th (likely 1999) which rounds out this package. Keep the first two CDs, spread the word with the CD single by giving it to a friend, and ditch the rest of the packaging knowing that you have made a great purchase by not buying them separately."
