Heck, it was the first time I ever heard them sing! Bought it on audiocasette back when it came out in the early 90's, and wore the tape out playing it in my car. So happy to see that there is a CD version I can buy!
These ladies have wonderful strong, tender voices, and their harmonizations are perfect, with yet that slightly ragged edge that makes their songs real and fierce. Several of the songs on this album still get me emotional, especially, "Chile Your Waters Run Red Through Soweto" and "On Children" (one of my very favorite teaching songs). I can't recommend this highly enough." |
