Synopsis

Album Description
2008 archive release, a treat for lovers of melodic Hard Rock and fans of the enigma that is Glenn Hughes in particular. Recorded in 1989, these previously unreleased songs - written and produced by Robin George and recorded in his studio in Wolverhampton, UK - were the first step on the road back to the top for Glenn Hughes after his time in Black Sabbath. Mixing Hard Rock with the tougher side of Blue Eyed Soul that the man was to make his own in the 90s, the voice is excellent, the songs are second to none and the production and playing by Robin George are all that you would expect from a man with a reputation for excellence in the Rock world. Krescendo Records. 2008.

(4 out of 5 stars)

"If you are a Glenn Hughes fan just add this to your cart and buy it. Back in the early 90's I would have given my left nut for a new Glenn Hughes release! How this was kept hidden from us for so long is beyond comprehension. Anyway.. This was obviously an attempt to tap into the mainstream market (To throw it into a ballpark, imagine Glenn joining a band like Survivor). Songs like "Sweet Revenge", "Overcome", and "Flying" could have easily climbed the charts back then. Glenns vocals are more soulful than the other projects he worked on during that time (Seventh Star, Phenomena, Run For Cover). There are also a few songs on this which would appeal to the hard rock fans ("War Dance", "Number One", "Don't Come Crying to Me"). It's a necessary addition to any Glenn Hughes collection."
