CD ReviewsNot as good as her older stuff, but still good Gemma | Alberta, Canada | 09/20/2006 (4 out of 5 stars) "My husband and I discovered the music of Sweetbox after two Jade's songs were used in the Final Fantasy X-2 game. After that, we went out and bought all of her albums. She's one of the (very) few artists we agree on. Our musical tastes are diametrically opposed, with him listening to hip-hop and rap, and me listening to classical and country. So if we can agree on an artist, you know she has to be good. Since this page doesn't give the track list for this album, I'll provide it here: 1. Graceland 2. Addicted 3. Here Comes the Sun 4. Pride 5. Bold & Delicious 6. Every Step 7. Break Down 8. Dreams 9. Ladies Night 10. Vaya Con Dios * 11. Beautiful Girl 12. Over & Over 13. Happy Tears * 14. Million Miles * Bonus Tracks for Japan I would recommend you buy this version (the import) of this album, otherwise you'll miss out on tracks 10 and 14. I've found this album has fewer slower songs, and Jade has become more "pop" with this album. While she still uses the influence of classical music, it seems to be a bit on the back burner with this album. She seems to be moving away from her marvelous signature style just a little bit, which is a shame. But she's still head and shoulders about the other pop princesses out there. I recommend this album, and also highly recommend her previous albums of JADE, CLASSIFIED, ADAGIO, and AFTER THE LIGHTS. Again, try to get your hands on the import versions of these albums, otherwise you'll miss out on a few tracks that don't appear on the North American releases. Don't worry, the liner in the Japanese / Import versions are still in English! The import versions are available on Amazon, but you might have to do a bit of searching." Paving The Way? Cory T. Shaeffer | Pittsburgh | 02/04/2007 (5 out of 5 stars) "Sweetbox (and Jade) are so talented it is unreal. This is some of the best female vocal pop on the planet, making mainstream American pop (Spears, Lohan, Duff) look like a JOKE. The song "Beautiful Girl" sounds like a combination of a great song by Gewn Stefani and Cyndi Lauper combined, and the beats are jaw dropping throughout. The single "Addicted" has a beat reminiscent of "In The Club" by 50 Cent, but what many people don't know is that Sweetbox has been doing music like this for a decade, and that artists like Timbaland (my favorite whipping boy, for those of you who have read my other reviews) have been ripping Sweetbox off for years. This is a pop album that is a masterful achievement, and like Stefani, Lauper, Janet, and Madonna, this record is both edgy AND smooth at times, providing the listener with an emotional rollercoaster that never lets up until the last precious beat. This album is one to buy, and one to savor and cherish. Albums like this can restore one's faith in pop music - it is just unbelievable how much better this is than dreck like Fergie and Clarkson. HIGHLY SUGGESTED from a man who has literally heard it all."
