Following their recent reunion and a very successful tour in 2008 after 10 years away, Swervedriver are back! As one of the finest bands from the so-called 'shoegaze' scene in the mid 90's, their music is often described as a cross between British ethereal bands such as Ride, Lush and My Bloody Valentine, and Motor city rock and roll classics like the Stooges and the MC5. In these digi-packs both their debut ''Raise'' and ''Mezcal Head'' have been re-mastered for the first time and extended with 4 rare bonus tracks and additional liner notes by the band.

"Full of the swirling, layered guitars found in the best shoegaze (My Bloody Valentine, Ride, etc.), Swervedriver offer a gripping, energetic take on the sub-genre. Where other shoegazers focus on creating oceans of drone-like sound to zone you out, Swervedriver's music will make you want to drive your car extremely fast. There's nothing trance-inducing about this band, or this album in particular. It rocks as hard as anything out there.

This is Swervedriver's best album, and the reissue really sharpens up the sound and offers up some great bonus tracks. If you really want to know what you're getting into, seek out "Never Lose That Feeling" and listen to it as loud as you can. If that doesn't sell you, nothing will.
