"The Swingin' Utters have been playing "streetpunk" for a long time now, long before it was in vogue as it is now. Having been together for such a long time has paid of in spades. Like the Clash before them, the Utters have retained their street sound, but have also managed to put some growth in their songs. Long times Pogues fans, the band have always experimented with, dare I say it? Irish folk and "Smokestack Dreams" is a great example. It sounds like it could have come straight off the Pogues "Hell's Ditch", it's that good. I have always liked Johnny Bonnel's contributions and "Something Sticky" reinforces that opinion, Max Huber also puts in a pair of favorites, "Brazen Head" being my pick, and of course, Darius is always at his best. I feel the Utters are not just a great streetpunk band, but a great BAND, period. They have grown in a genre that usually keeps bands stagnant...cheers to the Utters, may we hear from them for a long, long time."
