Swingle Singers Anthology

(4 out of 5 stars)
"This 4-CD set is a bargain.
Disk 1: Mozart
Disk 2: Bach
Disk 3: Miscellaneous, from the William Tell Overture to arrangements of Beatles tunes.
Disk 4: Folk songs from around the world.
The group consists of eight voices - four men, four women. The musicianship is absolutely first-rate.
Some of the highlights: The opening cut, the overture to Marriage of Figaro, is a tour de force of ensemble singing. Disk 3 starts with the William Tell overture, and ends with the 1812 Overture. This is one of the pieces recorded in concert, and includes - by way of voices - bells, cannons, and muskets.
