"Barnet and Dorsey were both very talented saxophone players of the big band era and both led popular bands. The songs they recorded were good, fun, and danceable, even though the two men were not great innovators in jazz and borrowed their songs and their styles from other bandleaders who were, such as Ellington, Basie, and Goodman. If you are interested in studying jazz as an art, listen to the latter. If you just want some fun swing to listen to, this is a great CD to have."
