Synopsis

Amazon.com
With the sticky-sweet pop of Hanson all the rage commercially (and, in many corners, critically), their label tries again with Swirl 360, led by brothers Denny and Kenny Scott. Less Jackson 5 and more Cheap Trick--or at least Rick Springfield--Ask Anybody is nonetheless the kind of perfect summer radio music that's sure to hold its appeal through all four seasons. Songwriting collaborations with the likes of Adam Schlesinger (Fountains of Wayne, Ivy, That Thing You Do!) and Ken Stringfellow (the Posies) lend an intriguing alt-rock credibility while helping ensure a high level of hook appeal. Go ahead--indulge. --Rickey Wright

CD Reviews

One of the most talented bands ever!
tara and amber | United States | 03/19/2000

"I absolutely love the Ask Anybody album! Pop music hasn't seen this much talent in a long time. The infectious tunes range from unique sounds once heard from The Beatles and The Beach Boys. These brothers are definetely not another example of pop music's "one hit wonder" problem. With their amazing songwriting skills, great voices, and guitar playing, there is no doubt in my mind that Denny and Kenny Scott are one of the best things to happen to music since The Beatles!"
Great cd from two brothers with awsome voices

"These two guys are awsome. Denny and Kenny Scott really know how to sing and shread the guitar. This cd is a variety of different kinds of music. If you want some plain rock and roll songs, you will like Candy in The Sun and Hey Now Now. If you like slow songs, you will like There. This cd rules. My favorite sons are, Ask Anybody, Candy in The Sun, Hey Now Now, There, and Stick Around. This cd, 5 stars, without a doubt."

"Hanson comparisons are inevitable and not completely without merit. However, the comparison that seems much more accurate is to NELSON, that late 80's flash in the pan that had the ultra-poppy "(I Can't Live Without Your) Love and Affection."Like Nelson, you've got two brothers with silky smooth voices and the ear for a catchy hook. Unlike Nelson, however, Swirl 360 has managed to piece together an entire album of high quality pop.If "high quality pop" is an oxymoron to you, if you think POP simply cannot be good, then you should stay away. If you've been waiting for a reason to think that pop CAN BE (but rarely is) a fun reason to turn on the CD player, then you should really give SWIRL 360 a chance. It is a gem in the crown of guilty pleasures."
