Synopsis

Product Description
A quarter of a century ago, in a town south of Montreal called Saint Bruno, Rick and Dan Hughes decided they wanted to be in a heavy metal band. The singer and drummer respectively were joined by guitarist Mike Plant and bassist Mike Larock to form the thrash metal quartet known as Sword. With their debut album, 1986 s Metalized , the fledgling band helped to define eighties metal in a way very few other bands managed. They went on to support Motorhead, Alice Cooper and were hand picked to open for Metallica on the Master Of Puppets tour. Praise ultimately comes no higher. Alongside Anvil, Sword flew the Canadian flag high during metal s golden years. This is how they did it.

CD Reviews

I am a fan of "The Sword" and I hated this

"Being a huge fan of the band "The Sword", (makers of the delicious rock-metal awesomeness "Age of Winters" and "Gods of the Earth") I was seriously disappointed with this album. I happened upon it while searching for the sword, and after reading some reviews that reassured me I'd like it a lot, I caved and bought it.

Don't make the same mistake.

This album would be good for people who grew up in the late 60's or 70's. I weep to remember the sound of my heart breaking when I heard the first few minutes of the cd. I could tell right away that I had made a mistake.

DO NOT BUY THIS just because the name is so similar; the music is not at all similar. I say this because there are those who would like it while disliking The Sword. Everyone's preferences are different and I mean no offense to the tastes of others. I'm just saying that I made a mistake and I don't want others like me to make the same mistake.

Thanks."

"First off. Absolutely amazing album. Buy it now.

How ever, I'm mainly commenting to correct amazon.com.

THIS IS NOT THE SWORD! This album is made by an 80's metal band called sword.

The sword came 20 years later. They're completely different bands."
