While the disc gets off to a smoldering start with "Paper, Pencil & Glue," the catchy "Hungry Girls," coupled with the hard-driving classics of "I'm Your Man" and "Trash" keep things bouncing right along. The album becomes truly memorable when Sylvain and his talented band do a superb interpretation of "Frenchette," and a near brilliant rendition of Johnny Thunders' soulful "Your Society Makes Me Sad." As the decidedly eerie title track (the last fifteen seconds of which will raise the hair on the back of your neck!) poignantly reveals, Sylvain, like many other performers, has had to endure a great deal of adversity over the past thirty years in order to make his voice heard within the oftentimes brutal world of the entertainment industry.
