CD ReviewsExtraordinary latinamericancomposer | Montevideo, Uruguay | 12/10/2001 (5 out of 5 stars) "Avet Terterian (Armenia, 1929-1994) is no doubt one of the best composers in the last fifty years, and one of the few great composers the Soviet era produced in the second half of the century, together with Ustvolskaya, Gubaidulina, Schnittke and Kancheli. As well as the CD with his Symphonies 3 and 4, this volume confirms that Terterian's music is innovative, risky and strongly expressive. Conductor Dmitri Liss seems to do a good job, and the Ural Philharmonic Orchestra sounds very well."
