Organ music at its best

"I bought this CD wanting a recording of one of the fantasies, and as I listen to the rest, the excitement doesn't end. Each one of these pieces, many of which are pretty obscure, is a gem. Bleicher plays the Walcker organ at Stadtkirche Winterthur, which Saint-Saens himself, it is claimed, once played. His choice of registrations puts the emphasis on clarity of the lines; for example, using a 4' stop for the opening of the op.99 #1 prelude. Excellent playing and excellent engineering make for romantic organ at its best."
