"The Netherlands Philharmonic is not in the same league as theConcertgebouw, but it's still a pretty good orchestra and there isample weight and power when the music calls for it. This is another one of those Laserlight bargain basement releases in good digital stereo, but unlike some other titles does feature Western European musicians. The interpretation is fairly straight-forward, which is an advantage. This is not quite as outrageously cheap as this label's complete opera recordings , but is still a good bargain."
