CD Reviews

System 7 - 'Live Transmission' (A-Wave)
Mike Reed | USA | 09/14/2007
(5 out of 5 stars)

"My first System 7 title I've ever checked out. Is it just me are are there simply too many CD's being released {anymore} to keep track of? Liked what I heard here. Never been the biggest 'ambient/techno' fan but I can fully appreciate this title simply because it has Steve Hillage on board. Tunes I was most impressed with were the Gong-like opener "Fay Deau Deau", "Teotihuacan (Pyramid Of The Sun)", the semi-hypnotic "Gazed And Diffused" and "Alpha Wave". Fans of The Orb, 808 State, the KFL and Aphex Twin should get a lot out of this disc. Get it."

"The person Steve Hillage still has talent today even though he does system 7 band.

I actually like some regular trance an techno music as well but by system 7 band.

I tried getting myself into Gong but cant see to do it, an sure hillage were in the gong band but I like the albums he did solo himself like L, Green an some others.

I discovered steve hillage by the band called Ozric Tentacles fans.

An yes some of the instrumental by him on green album does sound a little like OZRIC TENTACLES.

An at 1st I though system 7 was terrible until I listened to some of the samples an saw em on youtube SO THATS WHAT MADE Me get into it. I mainly into Goa Trance, Psychedelic Trance, Ambient, Progressive Trance, Dub, ChillOut, an some rock and jazz music too.

I mostly dont listen too the main stream bands on electronica music like paul oackenfold, atb, tiesto, etc.

I actually thought system 7 were going too suck because it's not goa trance or psychedelic trance, etc. but I was wrong.

So this system 7 albums are worth getting if your into electronica music like trance itself or techno.

But if your looking for goa trance or psychedelic trance then you might be disappointed."
