CD Reviews

Boo.... hiss!

"This is good hip-hop music, but that's ALL it is. The infectious tango track from the movie, (which was even used again for the title page on DVD), is conspicuously NOT there, nor any waltz, rumba or other ballroom music tracks that were in the movie. I THOUGHT THIS WAS A MOVIE ABOUT URBAN SCHOOL KIDS WHO LEARN BALLROOM DANCING! Sure, the hip-hop tracks should be there too because that was an integral part of the film, but that was only about half the music in the film. And in this case, the absence of ballroom dancing tracks, for a movie specifically about ballroom dancing is unforgivable. There should be a disclaimer on the cover of this CD to warn away anyone looking for the great, danceable tango, waltz, etc. tracks that were in the film."

"Hello,

I thought this movie personally was a wonderful. After I saw it actually I went out and bought the soundtrack. Pretty much all the songs you heard in the movie put together for you on disc. Lots of great dance beats. If you enjoy hip-hoppish music mixed with various other styles you'll enjoy this. Some songs would be great to making a party mix for a dance party if your looking for some good dance beats. There are a couple songs on here that could have been replaced with something better however there are plenty of good ones to outweigh those. I hope this review was helpful for you.

Have a nice day."
Very disappointed

"Watched the movie on DVD, loved it so much I immediately got on-line and bought the soundtrack. One of the things I liked about the movie is the juxtaposition of ballroom music and hiphop. The soundtrack for this movie about ballroom dancing does not have a single track of the ballroom music on it! What's up with that?!"
