"Sony's latest release in its' "Love Songs" series is an intriguing mixture of older and later music from Tammy Wynette. The dominant female voice in country music from '67-'76, this set includes some of Miss Wynette's best known love songs, including Stand By Your Man, and 1973's #1 'Til I Get It Right.
Thrown in for good measure are other top ten gems plus great covers that only the First Lady could pull off. Her version of then-husband George Jones' hit "Loving You Could Never Be Better" is sung with strong emotion. Her version of Sammi Smith's hit "Help Me Make It Through the Night" makes one wonder just how much bigger that song could have been had Epic recorded and released her version first. Track after track, you are once again reminded of just how versatile, and incredible, Tammy Wynette was as an artist. The fifteen songs in this package are well worth the price of admission! Hey Sony...how about Love Songs 2?"
GREAT LISTENING EXPERIENCE!!

"Tammy's new album has 8 songs appearing for the first time on CD as part of a U.S. release as well as many of her standards, such as STAND BY YOUR MAN.Each cut showcases Tammy's voice in fantastic form, full-range vocals, and tear-in-the-voice treatment for which she is famous. Just give a listen to HELP ME MAKE IT THROUGH THE NIGHT and THE TWELFTH OF NEVER. Her interpretations are top notch! Her 1979 single, NO ONE ELSE IN THE WORLD (a top-10 record)is the true gem of this set. It features a recitation as well as Tammy singing softly and then soaring. The overall production is lush and the piano intro is priceless. Many of the songs remind the listener of the time period when Tammy was married to George Jones. However, one in particular reminds us of Tammy's 20-year marriage to George Richey when listening to the lyrics of THE HAWAIIAN WEDDING SONG, especially the last line when Tammy sings, "I do love you with all my heart." She said many times Richey was the love of her life and made her happy! THE HAWAIIAN WEDDING SONG truly reflects that he met all Tammy's expectations about life-long love and devotion to each other. As Bob Kingsley, of American Country Countdown, once said about Tammy, "Perhaps the reason Tammy's music has enjoyed such great success is that Tammy is, in real life, the lady she sings about in her songs." This LOVE SONGS collection by Tammy truly reflects Kingley's statement.ATTENTION ALL COUNTRY MUSIC FANS: THIS ALBUM CONTAINS AN IMPORTANT PIECE OF COUNTRY MUSIC HISTORY AND IS A MUST BUY!"
