"One of the early groups in the NWOBHM (New Wave of British Heavy Metal, for the uninitiated) movement of the early 80's, Tank (definitely not to be confused with the later solo artist by the same name) was effectively described as "bulldog bludgeon". Slamming guitar, hard pounding bass, steady drums. Definitely not your mother's music.
There are basically 7 main tracks on this album, plus a couple of additions. Any one of them will stress your speakers and thump your head. "Echoes of a Distant Battle" is probably the best known song, and one that was featured on the righteous metal compilation MUSIC FOR NATIONS - THE SINGLES ALBUM (CASSETTE), an album which is ultra-rare these days.
If you like metal, and you hate the whole "let's throw some keyboards into it and make it commercial" nonsense, if you like blaring guitars and songs that will blow your speakers to hell and back, then you'll want to check out this album. If you like this, then you'll also want to check out Honour & Blood by Tank.
Long live rock.
