Product DescriptionThe 2nd album by the extravagant Romanian Gypsies was recorded in Bucharest. Just like the previous one, it offers a range of musical styles stemming from popular traditional music of Romania: ballads, love songs, dances, Gypsy melodies. Thanks to the intimate coexistence of several generations of lautari, all the repertoires meet and compete, the old style songs and those with modern arrangements. Between tours, the members of the Taraf still go back to their village of Clejani and their traditional lifestyle. They live for and from their music, which punctuates all the outstanding events of the village's social life: christenings, weddings, burials, harvests, etc. Around 1500 Gypsies live in Clejani, and most of them belong to the brotherhood of the lautari (musicians) or to that of the ursari (bear-tamers). This album was recorded in Bucharest in 1995.
