Like Tautologic's dynamic, imaginative, heartfelt, and occasionally humorous live shows, West is North, East is South offers up a challenging yet accessible mix of styles ranging from rock to classical to jazz to world music - all tied together by our signature wit, canny melodicism, rhythmic invention, and arrangemental finesse. For those of you living outside Chicago or otherwise unfamiliar with roads in Chicago, West is North, East is South is a reference to Interstates 90 and 94, which run through Chicago. Like most of the songs on the album, it hints at some of the topsy-turvy nature of the town Tautologic calls home.

If you like complex instrumentation (without boring "jams"), introspective lyrics, and just plain "good music", this CD is for you! Think Ben Folds Five crossed with Dave Matthews, a little Celtic sound, The Beatles and a teaspoonful of King Crimson, and you have the Tautologic Sound...Headphones are highly recommended!
