Hearts of Iron is a collection of western style songs and poems set to music, written by singer - songwriter Willis Lamm and renown cowboy poets Harold Miller and Dave Rhodes. Run Mustang Run was contributed by multiple Grammy nominee Lacy J. Dalton in collaboration with Beans Sousa and Steven Earl Swinford. The lyrics to Long Rider's Melody were written by world record long rider, Gene Glasscock. The vocals also include Tawnie Lee, a newcomer to western music who will be someone to watch climb the ladder to stardom, and "the Voice of Nevada," Larry McPherson. "Hearts of Iron" refer to the incredible wild horses that roam the ranges surrounding the places where the performers live. The album selections cover a range of western topics including wild horses, cowboys and their issues, life as a long rider, the Pony Express, Native Americans, lost loves, and a soldier coming home from war... all things western and in particular, all things Nevada.
