"It is not bad enough that the performances here are rough and are hard to listen to. But somebody made a fatal mistake when setting up the tracks. If you try to listen to the beginning of the Dvorak, you have to listen to the end of the Tchaikovsky first. Yes, believe it or not, track 4 is not the beginning of the Dvorak, it is the the last two minutes of the Tchaikovsky and the entire first movement of the Dvorak. Now, if you listen to both concertos at one time, you will never hear this mistake. But if you just want to listen to the Dvorak, you are in trouble. Of course, with a good CD player, you can simply advance it but that is a lot of trouble for a bad recording. The violinist here is a very intense player. Unfortunately, both of these concerti do not benefit from overwrought interpretation. They should sound more on the natural side. I have a lot of these Amadis recordings and some are quite good for their extremely low price. But not this one. Just avoid buying it."
