"When these extraordinary recordings were released in 1964 (Suite No.4) and 1978 (Suite No.3), in their Lp's format top critics praised these individual suites as references for the years to come. Now they have become classics of his own and also timeless benchmarks of Tchaikovsky's inspiration. Of course we have excellent recordings with probably better sound, and performance (i.e.Dorati, Svetlanov, Marriner, Jarvi ), however, they never match the great magical moment achieved, the peerless musical quality of the Vienna Philharmonic (Suite No.3) and Orchestre de la Suisse Romand (Suite No.4) at their top of form. This australian import is a very welcome reissue of the Decca catalogue and is a must for all Tchaivkoskians. Please get this cd now and enjoy it forever."
