Falsetto Soul Perfection
Robert D. Henning | Apopka, FL United States | 10/19/2006

"I love the Delfonics, Sylistics, Blue Magic and the many other falsetto groups of that time - and they are such super talented groups, but the Temprees are the best of this style just in terms of raw vocal performance. The production is not as slick as the Stylistics, but there is so much energy and heartfelt, reaching-down-into-the-soul... if you like great soul music, you owe it to yourself to get this CD. Once you check this out , you will seek out all their other recordings.
On top of the great singing, the backing musicians are fantastic. The playing is very tasteful, tight, and it all sounds like it was done together in one take (and I mean that in the best way possible). This is one of my dessert island CDs. Musicians definitely need this in their collection no matter what style you like."
Caught Up...

"....in maximum falsettoes and mellow tunes supreme.Get this for "the 'ah-hah', blue lights in the basement, slow drag on the last record, where were you when you 1st heard this" feel (I've started to sound like a late night informercial). The Temprees biggest hit was a remake of the bobby soxing, soda shop, 60's car radio tune "Dedicated to the One I Love". But there were other tunes like "Love Between and girl And Boy can be So Wonderful", and "Caught Up in Love's Maze" and "I Love.."Nowadays love tunes with those boy soprano falsettoes are met with disdain. 'What's that noise? Turn that Screeching down!'
and 'God Bless Barry White and Wille Nelson--them's real men'. But certainly, key to enjoyment of this CD of the Temprees is that you had to have been there in a place and time, young--hormonally adult, but not enough years behind ya--on the make or make out with these tunes ringing in your ears. It makes a lotta sense also when you consider that we back then would never consider the blatant in your face stuff seen now. We had to be a little more smooth. The Temprees helped us to be more smooth."

"It's just AWESOME! If you like to really hear when singers really sang without all the musical props and computer stuff, this group is one of the best. Truly, "Old School," and about quality of relationships and life."
