A decent yet forgotten early 90's gem

"Even though Ten Inch Men's Pretty Vultures flopped at the time of its release, amounting commercially to little more a bargain bin footnote of that awkward transitional phase emanated by early 90's pop music, perhaps listeners should have given the album a better chance before relinquishing it to the nearest resale shop. Artistically, the band's one and only album churns out a mixed bag consisting of fairly predictable serenades one moment in the form of tracks like "Crazy Day Dream" and "Go With Me", and then delights listeners the next with the strangely poignant lyrical themes of tracks like "Pretty Vultures" and "Never Say Hello", proving the rockier side of pop isn't so cut and dried as its bubblegum counterpart. Ultimately, the best part of this album and Ten Inch Men as a whole has got to be Dave Coutts, whose contributions are summed up as "big mouth" in the liner notes. His potent vocal range, paired with just the right amount of 80's-influenced cheeseball production, gives us the remarkably charismatic kind of singing voice that makes people like this type of music in the first place."
