"Capital records never cease to surprise me. Ernie released four great Christmas Lps, but none have been released in its entirity. This album has "The Little Drummer Boy" from his "Sing We Now of Christmas" album and "Oh, Little Town of Bethlehem" from his "Christmas album". The remaining tracks are from his classic "The Star Carol" lp that entered charts every year for five years after its release. Capital records, please, don't give us a sorry complitation like this. Release at least one album in its entirity! Bill Gaither and the Ford brothers have released a 2 CD set of his Christmas songs. Hopefully Amazon will soon be selling online."
This is a good album - but

"This album is good - but the one I would really like to have is a 2-album set called "A Tennessee Ernie Ford Christmas Special". I have this on vinyl and I could not find anyhere on the album the date it was released by Capitol. But, it is old! My children are 36 and 42 and they listened to this album in our home as children. RECORD ONE HAS: Sing We Now of Christmas; O Christmas Tree; The Little Drummer Boy; Angels We Have Heard on High; Caroling, Caroling; Good King Wenceslas; The Virgin's Slumber Song; Twelve Days of Christmas; What Child is This; Away in a Manger RECORD TWO HAS: O Come All Ye Faithful; Little Boy King; Slumber Song of the Infant Jesus; Bring a Torch Jeannette Isabella; Good Christian Men Rejoice; The Wassail Song; The Friendly Beasts; He is Born, The Holy Child; While Shepherds Watched Their Flocks; White ChristmasI still have a player and still listen to this 2-set album several times every Christmas. It is just not Christmas for us without it. I would love to have this on CD."
Wish there were more cd's

"I am 45 and growing up we had 2 of his LP's..*smile* one was the star one and it had that song and some children see him
I Love both and over the years have lost them and can't find his cd's (the were lp's then) from the 60's I guess it was. I don't like his music much but for me, his Christmas songs ARE Christmas."
One definitely could do worse

"The only real problem I have with this CD is that there are not enough tracks. I am quite used to at least fifteen songs on a Christmas album. When there are just ten, not only is the selection extremely limited but the disc is finished before you know it. These songs, however, are sung impeccably by Ernie Ford and, as I said before, one could do a lot worse."
