Synopsis

Album Description
Teri Falini's new record,is a bit of a departure from her debut in that much of the pent up anger has subsided and been replaced with a lush, heavier feel that is both dark and pensive. Recorded and produced by Mark Caputo, the songs are loaded with juxtaposed guitars, driving rhythms, and swirling melodic e-bows.

CD Reviews

Great Sophmore effort.
John E. | The Doledrums | 01/12/2007
(4 out of 5 stars)

"'The Room', the follow-up to her angsty debut 'Sun Under Me', shows a level of songwriting that continues to just get better & better which in my opinion was only hinted at on her debut. Listen to the tracks 'Cut' & 'Broken Man' from her debut for confirmation. While 'The Room' is more of a 'downer' record, there's something about it that draws me in and forces me to hit play again. Some great tracks here from the 'trippy' opener, 'Tangerine', the hooky 'Undressed', the tribal-esqe title track 'The Room' and my current favorite song of 2007, the epic 'My Father' one wonders how these songs would be in a live environment. It's a breath of fresh air to listen to a female artist who's unlike anything I've heard. PJ Harvey comes to mind, the singer from Concrete Blonde perhaps. Still, you're nowhere in the ballpark.

Highly recommended.
