"Is the first set of "A Jazz Band Ball"-cd a rhythm section with four brass, this is a rhythm section with three vibists who play very good: coherent, with good interplay and solowork, and good ensemble work. On some tracks you will also hear the marimba and the xylophone. The vibists are: Terry Gibbs, Vic Feldman and Larry Bunker. Also featured are Lou Levy on piano and Max Bennett on bass. And last but not least the great Mel Lewis "the tailor" on drums. Ten tracks in different tempos and moods. Very relaxing music without reeds and brass. One of the best engineers recorded this session: Bones Howard. Recorded brightly, well balanced."
