TOP ALBUM

(5 out of 5 stars)

"AS A BRIT AND A TEENAGER OF THE 80S I WAS LUCKY ENOUGH TO HAVE AN OLDER SISTER WHO INTRODUCED ME TO A PLETHORA OF EXCELLENT MUSIC-U2(WHEN THEY WERE GOOD, THE SMITHS, MARTIN STEPHENSON AND LAST BUT NOT LEAST THE ADVENTURES. BY FAR THEIR BEST ALBUM TRADING SECRETS WITH THE MOON IS AN AWESOME MIX OF TRACKS STARTING WITH THE UP TEMPO GREATEST SHADE OF BLUE. IT MOVES THROUGH POPPY, SOULFUL, TENDER AND "ROCKY"(IS THAT THE RIGHT WORD!). THE LYRICS ARE EVOCATIVE AND THE SINGING SUBLIME.
MY FAVOURITE TRACK IS SWEET BURNING LOVE WHICH IS A MIX OF SOUL AND GOSPEL. MY SISTER STILL HAS THIS ON CD AND ALL I HAVE IS AN AUDIO CASSETTE WHICH IS QUICKLY LOSING THE WILL TO LIVE AND I WAS ABSOLUTELY OVERJOYED WHEN I SAW THE ALBUM WAS AVAILABLE AT AMAZON.COM. I WILL BE INVESTING MY HARD EARNED CASH AND I SUGGEST YOU ALL JOIN ME. YOU WILL NOT BE DISAPPOINTED."
Great album, but you must hear Sea of Love

"Tradind Secrets is a great album by the Adventures, but my favorite album of theirs is Sea of Love. Find it--you won't be disappointed!"
Nice change of direction

"Far folkier than its predecessors, "Trading Secrets With the Moon" is a good listen.

The Adventures shift gears and move away from keyboards. They hit homeruns on such tunes as "Greatest Shade of Blue" and "Hey Magdalene" while the slower tracks like "Scarlet" and "Sweet Burning Love" are pleasant listens.

Good production, nice Irish pop. Prolly ranks behind their remixed self titled debut (released as "Thedore and Friends" in Europe) and "Sea of Love" but ahead of "Lions, Tigers and Bears".
