Product DescriptionLike a lot of creative partnerships, The Believers' began in a bar - the Sunset Tavern in Seattle to be exact - the place where Craig Aspen & Cyd Frazzini first met in 2001 and performed their very first show shortly after. So, it's probably no coincidence that their third and latest album Lucky You was recorded in Seattle and all of the photography was shot in that now famous watering hole & music venue. Following on the heels of 2005's wildly successful Crashyertown, this new disc from The Believers effortlessly blends 1970's pop hooks & harmonies (ala Fleetwood Mac) while keeping one foot firmly planted in American roots music (ala Gram & Emmylou). All ten tracks on Lucky You create lush sonic landscapes for the duo's trademark harmonies and songwriting that cover subjects from broken-hearted vagabond carnies (The Day the Circus Left Town) to domestic violence (Read It & Weep) and the fall of New Orleans (Higher Ground), and a little musical help from Band of Horses' Bill Reynolds and the twangtrust's Ray Kennedy (Steve Earle & Lucinda Williams) doesn't seem to hurt much either on this latest offering from a group that has helped shape the Americana/No Depression sound.
