Synopsis

Product Description
Organically Grown marks the Bodhi Brothers' first recording. This is a fun collection of acoustic-based music, with flavors of folk, blues, and country jazz. Largely instrumental, this CD's mellow, front-porch-style playing features The Bodhi Brothers doing what they do best, having themselves a good time in the studio. Christopher began his musical career banging pots and pans at the age of five before eventually moving on to a real drum set. He played obsessively until the age of eighteen, when he focused his attention on a career in business. The business world, however, provided no answers to real questions and no means of self-fulfillment, so after the obligatory Big Realization, Christopher abandoned his business, moved from L.A. to Nevada City, California, and started writing songs, playing guitar and singing as a means of finding himself. As a result, Christopher's music has evolved into an honest and poetic account of his own journey as a human being. He still lives near Nevada City area and uses the sales skills developed during his earlier years in helping to preserve the Amazon rain forest through sustainable eco-commerce. He is also the founder of Organically Grown Music. He has a beautiful daughter and two lovely step children. Aside from being a songwriter/composer, Johnny Om is also a versatile multi-instrumentalist and a visual artist. He has been playing and writing music since the age of 12. Born and raised in Philadelphia, he was active in the local music underground with several bands and as a solo performer until he headed west in the mid eighties. Since then, he has worked on several musical collaborations, composed music for dance, and owned and operated art galleries in Taos , New Mexico and Kauai, Hawaii . His art has been published in Bailey Cunningham's Mandala: Journey to Center, and TANTRA Magazine, among others. He met Jack Lee in 1990 while working together on music projects for author Lynne V. Andrews, and Christopher Taylor in Hawaii in 2000. He presently lives in Northern California and has a son and a daughter. Johnny Om is co-founder of Organically Grown Music. Supporting Musician/Producer/Engineer: Jack Lee; Over the years, Jack has played his music everywhere from Carnegie Hall to Isabel's South Sea Island Bar in Oconomowoc, Wisconsin. At 19, he was opening for Jimi Hendrix, Tina Turner and others with his own band, Oz. Later, after moving to Nashville, he played lead guitar for Tracy Nelson & Mother Earth and piano with Bluegrass legend Earl Scruggs. These days he's living in LA and working as a studio musician and producer. A multi-instrumentalist, Jack can be heard with the Bodhis on piano, bass, guitar, vocals, lap slide and dobro (but not all at the same time).
