Brad Dunn Band's new album, Gravy, includes tracks featuring Texas guitar god, David Grissom, as well as a host of noted guest musicians who share the band's zeal for great Texas music. The band's first official single, "Barstool" is a sharp swinger written more than forty years ago by Charlotte Morrison, the mother of the band's bassist, Mike Naumann. While she was in the hospital and had taken a turn for the worse, the band was in the studio attempting to record the song so she could hear it before she passed. They were late by literally a few minutes. Brad has found a champion in Cory Morrow. As the two worked together over the last couple of years, Cory and Brad struck up a friendship. After hearing the story behind "Barstool", Cory asked Brad if he'd consider letting him sing on the track. As Brad's songwriting continues to marinate in the Texas traditions he holds so close, he has become more and more engrained in the stalwart Lonestar songwriting community. His songs are at one moment, powerful, yet tongue-and-cheek in the next. They look at life on the other side of the proverbial track. From verse to chorus, they could be both a southern-rock anthem and a dancehall staple... it all depends on your point of view.
