Should be recognized as a classic comeback by a hip-hop hero

""Helter Skelter" got trashed by most critics when it was first released, but I always knew that it was something special. You'll never hear anything like this. Ever. D.O.C. was considered by many to be a contender for the title of "Greatest MC of All Time" after his debut album "No One Can Do It Better." Everything changed when a tragic auto accident damaged his vocal chords. Most, probably even the D.O.C. himself, thought that his career was over. In 1996 he came back with "Helter Skelter," an album about friendships torn apart by greed and the end of the world, fueled by paranoia and world-weariness. The D.O.C.'s voice now sounds like a creature from a horror movie, but that only adds to the effectiveness of the ominous theme. It was a brave thing D.O.C. did when he returned to music. He could've given up long ago(who would blame him?) or embarrassed himself with a weak album. D.O.C.'s refusal to give up make this album a sadly ignored triumph of the spirit."
The D.O.C is G.O.D.

"the d.o.c's voice may be a bit rough but ive heard other rappers sound virtually the same, and they're just putting on that voice.
If you know how important a role d.o.c played in the west coast scene people would give him loads more props, eg all Dre's raps on the first chronic are written by the DOC..anyway on to the album. DOC flows are just to tight, no one these days has his timing, imagination and raw flow. DOC says his own story on some of the tracks about how he didn't get half the due's he deserved and just his history with NWA, DRE etc, the rest is some post apocaliptic with some mad deep lyrix. Erotic D is a phatt producer to, with some far out and eerie west coast style sounds. If you persever with this album and listen hard to the DOC you will be rewarded."
One of the Best Hip Hop cd of the year!!!

"Let's start it off by saying the other guy (TRUschwartzJG@hotmail.com from So. California) has no idea what he or she is talking about!! (He or she buys all of their own cd's at a swap meet so you go figure?!!#?)The 6th member of N.W.A.THE DOC is back with a new voice. A slammin cd with mad out lyrics and dope beats. It's great to see the D.O.C. back with vengence. A must to any cd collection. He is still Funky Enough!!!"
Great for any hip hop collection
