"I saw The Damn Lovelys play in Brooklyn a couple of weeks ago and I just loved 'em. The singer sounds like a softer version of Sheryl Crow, the bassist plays intricate lines and sings great harmonies, and the lead guitar player really works the slide. I bought the CD at the show and can't stop listening to it. The songs are short n' sweet with a nice dose of blues and lyrics that keep interesting me play after play."

"After just a couple of listens to this cd I was hooked. I would find myself humming the songs to myself during the day and so I would again pop in the cd. It is truly addicting. A well-crafted album. I highly recommend this cd to anyone who enjoys good rock and pop tinged with country. This is a wonderfully unique and talented band that deserves to be heard and enjoyed around the world.
I have no hesitation in giving this album 5 stars!"

"I was an avid listener of Meredith Ochs' radio show on WFMU until I moved out of the New York area, so I got this CD to hear what she's been up to. Very nice work. Trouble Creek is a little country, a little blues and a lot of rock 'n' roll. Meredith was my favorite deejay because she told edgy and entertaining stories on the air, and her lyrics are the same way -- there's a lot of mystery in them, but they are still accessible. I love her sweet voice, and the band provides excellent accompaniment."

"I first heard The Damn Lovelys on the CCR tribute album Chooglin'. Their version of "Hey Tonight" sounds a little dreamy yet rockin' with a bit of a Blondie thing going on. So I bought Trouble Creek, it is fantastic. The singer has a strong voice that reminds me of Kirsty MacColl but with even more emotional range. The band is damn tight, dishing out catchy hooks with plenty of slide guitar that brings to mind The Allman Brothers. Overall, the album sounds a lot like a Sheryl Crow album yet the lyrics have much more depth."
