"Some beautiful songs here. Great vocals, and lots of ear candy in the production. I particularly like "Car" and "Be My Echo". Basically heartfelt rock and roll that makes me want to dance!"

"A very enjoyable album, especially as a whole piece. It is an interesting mix of digital and analog...kind of taking the best that each has to offer and then making them work together. There has obviously been a lot of thought put into the layers of these songs that leads the long replayability (if that's a word...if not, it should be)"

"The Illiterati, not to be confused with the punk band Illiterati, is an enjoyable album on many levels. First of all, the singer has a soft and delicate voice, spanning quite a bit of the scale. Secondly, there are many textures- from the beeps and electronic pops like in "The Lovliest Eyes" to the acoustic simplicity exibited in "Impala"- which combine to form an album that allows for many good listens without ever becoming kitch. Thirdly, the album is filled with catchy melodies and thus has that sing-song quality about it, making it fun to listen to often. I highly recommend its purchase."

"This album is enjoyable on many levels, from the skillful layering of traditional and unconventional musical sounds to the lyrics to the pop-songcraft. It is both sophisticated and accessible and definitely stands up to many listens."

"This may be something that only I noticed, but the music on this CD has a sound very, very similar to They Might Be Giants. So, I guess, if you like or dislike TMBG, then this CD is either for you or it isn't. It is very art house and being entirely performed on what sounds like mid-nineties drum machines and trackers they produce a very stylized sound that is definitely not mainstream. However, that doesn't mean the music is poor sounding or poorly written. It's enjoyable, but don't look for the illiterati to be doing sold-out stadium shows anytime soon."
