Synopsis

Album Description
Superb new single from beloved Australian notables features three new songs to tide you over until the band?s ensuing full length next spring. Lead track "Midweek Midmorning" is a fantastic pop affair that mines similar themes to previous Lucksmiths hits: sunshine, laziness and unemployment. With jangling guitars, trumpet, tambourine and excellent vocals, the song will surely provide the next entry in your favorite Lucksmiths songbook. The single also includes two great non-album tracks: "Point Being" is a catchy affair with handclaps and tambourines and a prominent bass line, while "Requiem for the Punters Club" completes the EP with an earnest tale about the closing of the band?s favorite hometown purveyor of adult beverages?a lovely remembrance that builds to a wonderful sing-along chorus before concluding with the solitude of a wailing harmonica. Good stuff indeed.

CD Reviews

I didn't think they could outdo themselves...but they did

"I was anxiously awaiting this release and I was wondering all the while if their debut full length album could be as good as their 2 EP's. Well I am happy to report that this album takes a step or two beyond on those two original EP's. The musicianship is top notch and the band has never sounded better. There is not one bad song here. I notice in some songs that MAPC seem to borrow familiar sounds and musical ideas from other bands that I love but they somehow make those sounds new and refreshing. Like I have said before they wear their musical influences on their sleeves. I can't really say enough good things about this album or this band. Now if I can only catch them on tour sometime my life will be complete."

"I accidently found this group while listening to my favorite online radio site/station. The first song I heard was 'Cold as Minnesota' and immediately fell in love with their sound. This entire album makes me feel good all over. I've recommended this album to several friends who have a similar music and they've all loved it."
