Product DescriptionJust in case you haven't already heard, The Mispent is a new five-piece from the grounds of South London. Led by singer/songwriter Warrick Hayes, the band was formed in 2003 and just recently unleashed its debut recorded effort, the stellar EP, All There Is, Is Now.
Produced by Peter Larson, these songs showcase a sound that has been described as "Morrissey meets Crowded House, but more upbeat." It is intelligent yet entertaining and humorous yet heartfelt contemporary rock that offers a little bit of something for everyone. That could be largely a result of the diverse backgrounds and influences each band member brings to the table.
The result is a universally warm and inviting rock vibe that is difficult to resist. As evidence, consider that the band recently entered VH1's "Song of the Year" competition, where "Wish You Well" was a top-five finalist in the rock category. Or you might look at the band's rapidly expanding fan base for further proof. But despite the whirlwind of recent success, Hayes and company aren't losing sight of what they set out to do."For many reasons, there aren't enough intelligent, melody-driven, adult-orientated bands that are new out there," says Hayes. "My focus is to make sure we're good enough to fill that void and do that job. And I think we are, and we can."
