CD ReviewsVery disappointing Fadi Safieddine | 01/20/2003 (1 out of 5 stars) "After being a Mission fan for years, I was very disappointed with this rubbish. The boys should not have got back together. It's formula rock, nothing interesting. Go back and listen to Carved In Sand for some real music by this once great band." Master piece Fadi Safieddine | Beirut , Lebanon | 03/22/2002 (5 out of 5 stars) "when i first heard the mission in late 1986 i was thrilled by hussy's voice , music and songs lyrics W Hussy performance is the major thing in the bands success eventhough they didnt achieve what they were longing for Aura should be a hit album ! it starts with Evangeline which kiss the spike of louis 15 and slave to lust is the best song of the album which deals with sexual abnormalities..... dragonfly remindes me of butterfly on a wheel and in denial is a good song to end the album Aura as a whole is a blend of the mission's old albums specially God own medicine and carved in sand but in a better music harmony and more powerful lyrics." Amazing Kevin Graham Berry | Orland Park, IL United States | 03/26/2002 (5 out of 5 stars) "This is the best album from The Mission since "Carved In Sand"."Evangeline" is a great opening track for the CD. The Mission picked this track to be the first single off the CD and there is a good reason for it... It is a catchy song that should be instantly liked by fans and new listeners. However, the album has much more to offer. The album packs many different unique tracks together on one CD. The Mission has clearly drawn from the differing styles of their past albums to put this one together. And... It works very well!"(Slave to) Lust" is a really powerful track with unusually blunt lyrics for The Mission. Good to see that they're prepared to push the envelope a bit and try something different. Mission fans will love this track."Mesmerized" seems to have an earlier influence going back to "God's Own Medicine", "Children" or even "The First Chapter". The drum beat is primitive and the music is melodic giving the song an almost hypnotic quality."Lay Your Hand On Me" proves that The Mission can still come up with a completely original sound. Although there is possibly some taste of "Neverland" here this track is unique in its own right. This could be my favourite track of the album."Dragonfly" can only be described as heavenly. This track reminds me most of Butterfly on a Wheel."Happy" is the first song on this album that reminds me of a song by The Cure (there are others too). It is a almost a happier version of Friday I'm In Love..."The Light That Pours From You" is another powerful track that deserves mention."Burlesque" is another of my favourites. This song has a really brilliant introduction that cascades into an explosive "dance the Burlesque" to really launch the song. The brilliance keeps on going with "Cocoon"... a haunting melody. That's it for the main CD - The Mission is really back! Of course, if you buy the Collector's edition you get the bonus mini CD that includes two non-album tracks: "Anyone But You" and "Melt". I would recommend you buy the Collector's edition for this reason. "Anyone But You" is brilliant."
