"I bought this CD from Walter and Stephanie at the Black Mountain Folk Festival about 6 years ago and it is still one of my favorite CDs. Walter's voice is such an instrument on its own and Stephanie's cello makes a perfect accompaniment to Walter's guitar. I miss seeing The Nudes live, since they are no longer performing together. This CD helps keep their memory alive."
Lots of good memories in this album

"I bought my copy of this album directly from Walter and Stephanie when they performed at my university in Rochester, NY. It was so hot off the presses that they had to mail me the liner notes. Their music really is spectacular. Still sad that they don't perform together anymore, but I'm really glad to have this, along with their two other albums to bring back the great memories."

"I saw The Nudes perform at UMaine in '97. Though I never bought one of their CD's during their performance my mind kept going back to their music. After much searching I finally found a copy of this album last year. It's a "must have" in my car. It is too bad they are not performing together anymore. Their witty banter and great interaction with their audience will be sorely missed.
"Lady and Gentleman" is my favorite piece on this album.

Someday You're Gonna Find It

"For those of us who scour the used CD bins looking for that one magical CD that might have eluded us, "Velvet Sofa" by the Nudes is hard to beat. Jazz guitarist Walter Parks & cellist Stephanie Winters produce a soft acoustic sound that has a pulse and marries an excellent melodic sense to witty lyrics. "Love Locked Up" is an enchanting example with the catchy pop chorus, "There's a love locked up in your mind & someday you're gonna find it." "Soul" is a sweet track with Walter's guitars playfully setting the pace on this bright melody that'd make Seals & Crofts giddy. Their version of the Beatles' "Norwegian Wood" achieves a depth with Stephanie's cello and the delightful John Lennon melody, "She asked me to stay & she told me to sit anywhere, so I looked around & I noticed there wasn't a chair." "Don't Take It Apart" is a gentle tune whose lyric on the insert shows a nude Walter on the porch with his guitar strategically positioned. "Partners, Painters & Friends" is probably my favorite track with its toe tapping rhythm, "I wanna know till she finds what is her in a man will she ever be his?" "Arizona" is also another memorable track. This set from 1996 sounds fresh almost a decade after release. Seek & you shall find! Enjoy!"

"The Nudes have been described as the tallest performers in the industry. They are tall! Their music is statuesque too. They combine excellent and thoughtful lyrics with beautiful tunes and a great blend of cello and guitar."
