Synopsis

Product Description
A few years ago, BMG s Buddah imprint embarked on an ambitious reissue campaign for the Partridge Family album catalog, but they stopped short of releasing the last Partridge Family album, 'Bulletin Board'. Which, naturally caused the group s fans to beseech us here at Collectors Choice Music to do something about it! And do something we have, reissuing the entire original album with new notes and two bonus tracks, both sides of the Bones Howe-produced Shirley Jones single Ain t Love Easy/Roses in the Snow from 1972. And speaking of Shirley, she s not actually on Bulletin Board; it was David Cassidy s show now, and under his direction the album took a decidedly more adult turn than the Family s previous efforts, which probably explains why it escaped reissue till now, and also why the now grown-up fans of the show want to hear it so badly! A Collectors Choice Music exclusive!

CD Reviews

A FITTING FINALE

"Any diehard Partridge fan has been waiting for this CD for nearly 30 years! A terrific final album with lots of sizzle, this recording is a welcome pop breeze. One of my personal all-time favorite PF songs is on this CD - I Heard You Singing Your Song - it has never left my head after hearing it on vinyl. It's a treat here, along with sweet but square Shirley Jones songs, and the rest of the terrific album tunes. Glad this finally sees the light of day! Bravo."
Top of the Line music!

"This is arguably the best effort of the Partridge Family. Fun and fantastic with songs atypical of their earlier more choiresque fare. Most of the songs here were used in later years of the show, and would be familiar to those who cherish the program. It's a tragedy that this has gone on for so long without a CD issue. IT'S FINALLY OUT!!This music is just as crisp and bright as it was when recorded. And the stellar cast of musicians including Cassidy and Jones at the vocals proves this is timeless, priceless music. Excellence in the Pop form!

This completes the original run of vinyl for the 10 recorded albums (two were greatest hits packages). Now if we could only get the unreleased material. Email Collector's Choice and tell them how much you want this stuff! If you have enjoyed any of these recordings from their 1st called "Album" all the way to this one, you will SO enjoy the unreleased songs. Email Cassidy too about your disappointment in his reluctance to help these superior recordings see the light of day. Generation after generation is losing out on not hearing beautifully orchestrated quality pop songs that inspire joy and hope."
The last and my favorite Partridge release

"Thank God!! Finally on cd!! I grew up with the Partridge Family music. I was a young teen throughout their run and I loved the music. Must admit I always loved the music more thasn the show itself. All the other Partridge Family albums have been on cd remastered many times but never BULLETIN BOARD and it is my favorite. It's funny that this album was put together so quickly and at the last minute when released for all the tracks are very strong. It came in the shows 4th season - David Cassidy said he would not return for another and Shirley Jones is not a part of these Partridge tracks.

It is said David Cassidy was never thrilled with the Partridge Family songs. The first two albums were quality pop but they did loose quality a little bit after that (though fans like me still loved them.) David Cassidy always wanted a more mature sound and he got it here. This set has high quality pop with more of a rock and r@b influence. David takes these songs seriously and his vocals are great.

The set opens real strong with MONEY MONEY and ROLLER COASTER. Amazing tracks and either one would have made a great single. Instead they released LOOKIN FOR A GOOD TIME which is an awesome song but so different from the Partridge norm it had no chance as a single. But the song itself is a great r@b track. They also remake the classic OH NO. NOT MY BABY. I don't think there is a miss here and all the tracks are very strong. WHERE DO WE GO FROM HERE, HOW LONG IS TOO LONG and I'LL NEVER GET OVER YOU are all standouts. Also, my all time favorite Partrisdge Family song is here. I HEARD YOU SINGING YOUR SONG is pure magic, pure bubble gum and pure feel good. Excellent melody and backup vocals used for excellent harmonization. On the other tracks David Cassidy stands front and center more than on earlier releases. I truly believe that had this album been marketed better the new mature sound would have allowed more albums to be released whether the show was on or not. They just shouild have chosen a better single.

I can't recommend this cd enough. The songs are timeless, not at all dated and remasterd for excellent sound quality. Don't let your Partridge Falmily collection be incomplete and you will be thrilled with this cd. MONEY MONEY, ROLLER COASTER and I HEARD YOU SINGING YOUR SONG are worth the purchase in themselveses.

Highly recommended."
