I was not familiar with the Ramones' music, but saw a movie about the group and was inspired to get their All the Stuff and More CDs. This kind of music is not normally my thing, but I really get a kick out of listening to the Ramones. So, I am enjoying their tight, short style and quirky lyrics. I have also gotten 4 books about the Ramones and now might be considered and expert!

All the fun and more

"The first two Ramones albums plus b sides on one CD is as fine as it gets for the happy comic book lyrics and head bobbing sounds of the late 70's. This is definelty a "play loud" selection. What makes them so great, and they were a great band, is that with a few nifty chords and a simple hard driving drum and bass line they were able to make any blue day brighter. Cheerful punk? "Hey little girl, I wanna be your boyfriend." Yes. As American as it gets with songs about sniffing glue, being an unruly kid, chasing girls, riding in cars, sniffing more glue and then dancing through the night. The Ramones had no pretentions to being anything other than a great rock and roll band and "All The Stuff Vol. 1" is the first chapter in music the way that the music of rock and roll began. Punk aside, what band after them doesn't owe them a nod of thanks for how to work the hell out of a chord and to make the 2 minute song an art form of both rage and giggles? This CD, Ramonesmania and It's Alive are very much essential discs for the car, for parties, and for working around the house with a dance in your step.

Some rockers need angry punk and Jamaican Clash rip-offs to justify the beat, but when listenting to the Ramones none of that is needed, all you need is a love of the Mosrite bass and guitar and a sense of humor. Fast and loud. That's the Ramones."
Compilation of first 2 albums and then some...

"This CD is contains the complete first two albums by the

Ramones: "Ramones" and "Ramones Leave Home". It also includes

a few B-sides of singles, not released on the original LP's.

These are "I don't want to be learned, I don't want to be tamed",

"I Can't Be", "Babysitter", and the live version of "California

Sun". Unfortunately, it does not contain the originally banned

track "Carbona Not Glue", which was replaced by "Sheena is a

Punk Rocker".

This CD is especially helpful for all those old Ramones fans

out there trying to replace their vinyl LP's onto CD. This

will save you having to buy both "Ramones" and "Ramones Leave

Home", and give you a few bonus tracks as well.
