Album DescriptionNo fewer than 30 rounds are included in this one hour recording. They come from many parts of the world, including a Kyrie from Surinam and the well-known Hebrew round Hava Nashira. Composers range from Praetorius, Mozart and Antonio Caldara to newer composers such as Elliot Levine (of The Western Wind), Pat Shaw, Jean Ritchie, Peter Schickele, Daniel Paget, Joanne Hammil and John Krumm. Nine of the rounds have a "Rounds Minus One" format where one part is left out for the listener to fill in. For those who wish to learn the rounds, the booklet has all the words and indications of how many parts there are and where to come in. As in any round, it's always intriguing to hear the first voice or melody enhanced by increasingly complex and beautiful harmonies as the other voices enter. The rounds are all acapella, except for one that has guitar and one that has ukulele accompaniment.
