An Surprising Departure for a Military Band!

"If you're like me, you're used to seeing CDs from Scottish Regiments that are all pretty similar. They have the regimental badge and a picture of the band on the cover, maybe with a picture of the pipe major or drum major in feather bonnet. This CD is a major departure from that standard. The cover is the first clue, it has an image of parallel tracks with a shadow of a guitar on it! No more "pipes and drums and regimental band" stuff. The Royal Scots Dragoons truly show off their musicanship, and bring along a talented corps of outsiders to help them. The opening track of "Going Home" is accompanied by Mark Knofler of Dire Straits!"

"We first heard this CD Parallel Tracks at my parents house and fell in love with the sound! My father played bagpipes for 30 years and it brought back so many happy memories, great modern sound!!"

"After 35 years of listening to pipe records/cds--here at last is something new. Not just kitchen-piping. With this CD, at times you feel like you're hearing music that's "Pink Floyd meets Simon Frasier" at other times you're convinced you're in a bar listening to a spontaneous ceilidh. Well worth the money--even my father liked this cd."
